Bulawayo branch is the second largest and it started operating in 1992. It has a growing base of 19 support groups and 630 registered parents. Since its inception, the Bulawayo branch has been actively involved in advocacy and lobbying for the rights of children with disabilities especially in the areas of education and health. The branch has also been involved in training parents in the areas of rights of the disabled children, leadership and management and caring.
The majority of the disabled children come from poor families who struggle to afford the basic needs of life such as shelter, food, education, clothing as well as recognition in society.
